Position: System Support Specialist - HomeGoods Distribution Center Bloomfield, CT.
Department: IT
Reports to: IT Supervisor
Hours -
C Shift, Monday-Thursday 3:30 pm-2:00 am
Pay Range- $
19.95 - $26.90
Responsibility:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, clean, and install all DC computer telecommunications, copier hardware, and ticket printers to ensure continuous operation with the DC.
- Ensure all network components are operational.
- Make repairs, adjustments, upgrade and configure systems as needed. Walk the facility daily to look for equipment that is need of repair or missing.
- Recommend/perform maintenance and/or replacement of equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive records of equipment inventory, problems/failures, and coordinate preventative maintenance and/or corrective programs with vendors.
- Coordinate the ordering of supplies and maintain technical inventories.
- Work with the Data Center Supervisor to review the daily activities of the data center, which includes data entry and ticketing personnel.
- Perform special projects as needed.
- Perform and schedule system backups as required and coordinate schedule changes for backups with Corporate IT.
- Follow proper escalation procedures on IT Services.
Qualifications:
- Must have 1-2 years experience working in network communications (voice, data, telecommunications and/or a technology support role).
- High School diploma required, Associates degree or equivalent work experience strongly preferred. Vocational training and/or course work in telecommunications is considered a plus.
- In depth knowledge of telecommunications equipment, Radio/RF systems, a strong mechanical acumen, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair PC problems.
- Strong organizational/communication skills.
- Someone detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Good communication skills
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is a plus, but not required
- Familiar with or certified in ITIL v3 or v4 Foundations is a plus, but not require
