BOOST is assisting our partner, ZenPoint Solutions LLC to find a highly talented Cloud Engineer II. Position Overview: One of their Department of State contracts is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer II. This mid-level role involves supporting systems engineering tasks for applications in both unclassified and classified environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching and evaluating products and services, identifying opportunities to integrate them into existing systems, and translating customer requirements into actionable solutions. Day-to-day tasks include server validation, updates, and patch management, while collaborating with other teams to ensure system maintenance. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter, able to work efficiently under moderate supervision and meet deadlines.
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must hold a Top-Secret clearance to be considered eligible for this position
Work Schedule (On-site): Five (5) days a week on-site at the customer’s facility
Work Location: Primary Location-Springfield, VA; Alternate Location-Washington DC (location may vary depending on Stakeholder and team requirements)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and knowledge for both on-premises and cloud-based environments
- Assist in the administration, integration, and implementation of hyperconverged infrastructure technologies and MS Azure Commercial and Government Cloud platforms
- Use Agile Project Management methodologies to help execute project goals efficiently
- Use Azure DevOps for project management, collaboration, source control, and CI/CD software deployment
- Support cloud services research, development, and integration, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Key Vault, and Azure HDInsight
- Contribute to consulting services related to security, cost analysis, and innovation trends
- Collaborate with IT leaders to help plan and sustain infrastructure using agile approaches
- Help develop and update standards, documentation, processes, and procedures for the systems engineering team
- Daily tasks may include account creation in various environments, outage reporting, patch application for critical applications, and other related tasks
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
- 3-5 years of systems engineering experience
- 2-3 years of demonstrated proficiency in Azure
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure and services
- Proficiency in cloud-specific tools and technologies
- Knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including virtual networks, subnets, and security groups
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance standards
- Experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor
- Knowledge of cloud database services and SQL/NoSQL databases
- Experience working with Government clients, systems, and applications is a plus
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
- Certifications such as A+, Network+, MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Associate), or MCAAA (Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate)
- Experience with cloud services like Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, and Azure Data Lake
- Familiarity with VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, and other industry-standard tools and platforms
