Responsibilities:Arcfield is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and architectural design expertise to support O&M, enhancement, and digital transformation activities for the BSE, including decommissioning of applications, systems, and/or service components. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide systems engineering and architectural design expertise to support O&M, enhancement, and digital transformation activities for the BSE, including decommissioning of applications, systems, and/or service components.
- Define and maintain system standards and architectural principles to develop, implement, and maintain applications, systems, and/or service components.
- Create and maintain system documentation such as wikis, system Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation, system/application design documents, and interface control documents (ICDs).
- Create and maintain system/application design diagrams that illustrate dependencies and data flows within the BSE and external systems.
- Analyze business functionality and provide alternative solutions for architecture and process improvements that promote integration and innovation, to include cost benefit analysis.
- Create and maintain a backup and recovery strategy for the BSE.
- Participate in engineering reviews, design reviews, technical exchange meetings, and working group meetings that could affect the operation and configuration of the BSE.
- Plan, design, and analyze the integration of new components into existing applications, systems, and/or service components, to include installing and/or removing existing integrated components.
- Provide and document a total system perspective, including relationships, dependencies, and requirements of hardware and software components.
- Identify and ensure that all subsystems work together to function as a single system.
- Research and consider COTS and internally developed solutions to solve integration problems and/or meet system requirements.
- Ensure all portals integrate effectively with existing enterprise systems and data stores to achieve a well-connected, secured, and controlled enterprise of systems.
- Ensure services development follow best practices for development, test, configuration control, release, and change management processes, and enforce SLAs.
- Identify, develop, coordinate, deliver, maintain, and update required interface specifications, including the definition of services, data flows, and dependencies for internal and external service providers.
- Engineer, develop, integrate, deploy, and maintain internal software code, as necessary, to successfully integrate COTS products and associated updates.
- Support resolution efforts and/or coordination for integrated COTS software.
- Comply with Section 508 Compliance and conduct usability analysis that leads to intuitive interfaces, which improve user experience for applications, systems, and/or service components of the Sponsor’s BSE.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- A bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering and have 8 - 10 years relevant experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting technical programs in a systems engineering capacity executing full lifecycle engineering tasks, requirements analysis and systems design, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Must have current TS/SCI with Poly and have the ability to maintain.
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years of experience actively supporting technical projects within the Intelligence Community that required an understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.
- An active certification relative to system engineering, system architecture, system administration, or computer science.
