About the Job
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in assessing and developing specifications for procuring the appropriate technology to support the College's academic departments, with a focus on integrating systems such as Canvas, Ellucian Colleague, YuJa, MS Teams, Transact, and Touchnet.
- Install, configure, and maintain academic systems/servers and services, ensuring seamless operation of the LMS and related academic applications.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for system implementations and configurations, including user guides for Canvas and other academic platforms.
- Support the College's efforts in creating end-user training materials and documentation, particularly for faculty and academic personnel, ensuring effective utilization of tools like Canvas and YuJa.
- Collaborate with and support end users to address their needs related to the administered systems, providing timely solutions and fostering a user-friendly environment.
- Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to optimize user experience and system functionality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience preferred.
- At least 3 years of related work experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
- Proficiency in systems administration of Microsoft servers and desktop operating systems in a networked environment is required.
- Strong working knowledge of networking, Active Directory, VMware virtualization applications, and network-attached storage.
- Familiarity with major learning management systems (LMS), specifically Canvas, as well as academic applications such as Ellucian Colleague, YuJa, MS Teams, Transact, and Touchnet.
- Basic knowledge of common database management and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PowerShell) is desirable.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with faculty, administration, students, and external resources in a diverse environment.
- Culturally sensitive, demonstrating an understanding and appreciation of a multicultural college community.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
