About the Job
To manage and coordinate student academic services within the Graduate School. To audit and award degrees for graduate students who have applied to graduate by reconciling student transcript with degree requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Audits degrees for graduate students who have applied to graduate by reconciling student transcript with degree requirements; communicates with graduate programs when there are issues such as missing coursework; verifies that each applicant has followed Graduate School policies and graduation requirements; compiles and maintains file of potential graduates used to produce the commencement book, various graduation approval forms, and degree audit checklists.
2. Supervises Degree Specialists and Plan I Coordinators to ensure all tasks and responsibilities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Serves as a leader on the Student Services team; effectively communicates Graduate School policies and procedures to faculty, staff, and students; assists Director with evaluation and process improvements related to tasks of the Student Services unit.
4. Posts degrees by reconciling final grades and transcripts; verifies all transfer of credits have posted; ensures outstanding contingencies have been met; awards degrees in Banner Student System and verifies that degrees have posted to students' transcripts; communicates with students who have outstanding financial balances or other issues resulting in holds being placed on diploma.
5. Reviews and approves all Academic Common Market requests; audits residency status for enrolled students; reviews academic standing and notify students and programs as necessary; audits 698/798 coursework to ensure students qualify in a timely manner.
6. Processes Academic Leave of Absence requests and follows up with students to determine return date.
7. Places diploma order for all certificate, masters and doctoral graduates each term; processes replacement diploma orders for masters and doctoral graduates.
8. Manages graduate studentsrsquo; curriculum, ensuring both the curricula and catalog term are correct; processes change of program form; reviews and approves Graduate Catalog updates.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range: %2447,665 - %2477,455
Master's Degree in Education, Counseling, or related field and three (3) years or related experience. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
