Under general supervision, this position will perform standard clerical and administrative duties.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Maintain faculty reappointments at all institutions (UAB, St. Vincent's 119, Children's of Alabama, VA, and Callahan) Assist as needed in new faculty privileging. Coordinate with Access Center for VIPs, UAB employees, and other appointment requests.
- Request journal articles as needed
- Prepare presentations as requested.
- Type/compose letters
- Proof/edit letters and dictations as requested
- Compose and upload reference letters.
- Assist with IRB, grants, and scholarship application paperwork.
- Grand Rounds guest speaker administrative process travel arrangements, reimbursements, disclosure forms
- Call schedules for Adult Ortho and Pediatric Ortho Schedule and maintain all physician calendars for meetings
- Add surgical cases daily/remove canceled cases for all faculty, and confirm cases scheduled using line-ups from surgery schedulers.
- Add call days to each physician's calendar for each facility in which they are on call.
- Manage physician itineraries as requested.
- Maintain eLas for all faculty.
- Schedule and bill for depositions and provide chart copies
- Add clinic closures for all faculty on calendars.
- Place all physician outages on the Departmental Scheduled Absence Calendar.
- Take minutes at scheduled meetings as needed.
- Answers phones, sorts mail, and incoming faxes, and attends staff meetings.
- Provide buddy system coverage.
- Orders supplies, maintains databases and reports.
- Assists with special projects.
- May supervise other support personnel.
- May handle confidential information, dictation and transcription.
- May verify insurance and process medical record requests.

Education
- High School diploma or GED
- And five (5) years of related experience required.
