About the Job
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Med - Pulmonary/Allergy/Critical Care, is seeking a Manager-Clinical Research Administration. This position will provide financial support for multiple PIs within the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine, focusing on Clinical Research. This position will manage a team of approximately 4 Clinical Research Administrators.
General Responsibilities
- To act as a subject matter expert (SME) for faculty and staff regarding administrative duties for industry and sponsored clinical research.
- To serve as a referral resource for the clinical research community at UAB.
- To manage and maintain the study s compliance with institutional requirements.
- To manage division-wide training in ethical conduct of research.
- To manage, assess and determine solutions for operational shortcomings of protocols. To provide human resources oversight for subordinate personnel.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and supervises a team of clinical research-focused finance administrators.
- Provides pre- and post-award research administrative support to Pulmonary Investigators.
- Conducts budget and contract analysis and negotiations for industry-sponsored projects.
- Manages and assists colleagues in identifying efficiencies and improving processes.
- Provides human resource oversight for subordinate personnel.
- Trains staff in various work responsibilities.
- Acts as an expert resource to junior staff liaising with sponsors, subcontractors, or vendors.
- Works directly with the Pulmonary Lung Health Center Directors to create budget forecasting and strategic planning.
- Serves as a referral resource for the clinical research community at UAB.
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for faculty and staff regarding administrative finance duties for industry and sponsored clinical research.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range:%2477,640 - %24100,935
Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification strongly preferred.
Preferences
- A Master's degree in Business or Finance is preferred.
