The Manager
- DevOps Quality and Automation will lead the mission to mature the provisioning and operation of test environments and quality and automation platforms. The objectives are to reduce toil, drive operational excellence and enable quality outcomes for customer delivery teams.
- Manage the provisioning, operation and expansion of production and non-production platforms including Ansible Automation Platform, Client's Business Process Management platform, Collibra DQ for ensuring quality in our production data pipelines, and both packaged and open-source test automation and performance testing solutions.
- Manage the provisioning, operation and expansion of integrated testing environments for application and quality engineering teams.
- Partner with application and infrastructure DevOps Managers and release engineers to migrate application deliverables through the testing environments to enable both component-level and end-to-end testing.
- Own the production lifecycle of tooling and test environments with defined SLAs, KPIs and processes to manage availability, minimize disruptions and degradations and accelerate restoration of service following incidents.
- Creating and executing a multi-year roadmap for the modernization and automation of our testing environments, including migration to cloud, to drive efficient and effective testing and deployment of our applications and infrastructure.
- Defining the service catalog, SLAs and dashboards to effectively deliver and manage our quality and automation platforms and testing environments.
- Integrating with key partner teams including Quality, Automation, Cloud, IT Operations, DevOps, Release Management, Infrastructure, Risk Management and Application Development to drive broader impact and "win together”.
- Implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation to reduce toil, enable efficient testing and prevent service disruptions.
- Leveraging our contractor relationships to scale and execute our plans.
- Driving effective retrospectives and root cause analysis to learn from failures and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of industry and business, assisting the broader IT organization in the formation of strategy and approach to exploit technology, skills and methods to drive significant impact to the bottom line.
Skills and behaviors:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
- 5+ years of DevOps, test automation, and/or infrastructure automation experience building and leading a team to drive SLAs and availability for production systems and/or test environments.
- Excellent coding and scripting skills and experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Sonar, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience deploying and supporting containerized, clustered cloud applications e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, and running on Azure or GCP.
- Experience delivering in an agile environment (squads, pods, CI/CD, release trains).
- Highly proficient in articulating technology concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Drive results through persuasion and articulating a vision of what is possible.
- Work with teams across onshore/offshore, remote work, and staff augmentation models.
- Manage through conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Flexibility to be available after hours, on weekends, and during peak season (holiday) as necessary to support the team and business operations.
- Minimal travel required (training/conferences).
