About the Job
The TIG Welder will be responsible for manual TIG welding and TIG repair of production and rework parts. This role involves operating weld fixtures, performing dimensional inspections, and ensuring that all welds meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in TIG welding, experience working with exotic metals, and the ability to pass the D17.1 National Standard Weld Test.
Key Responsibilities for TIG Welder:
- Perform TIG welding, assembly, and repair of production parts to precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Load and position components into weld fixtures, following detailed operator and standardized work instructions.
- Use welders, hand tools, and grit blasters to meet production and quality standards.
- Perform deburr operations and ensure all parts meet specified tolerances.
- Record and track welding wire usage, and accurately document actions, measurements, and job-specific information.
- Interpret operation sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to meet or exceed specifications.
- Verify the conformance of finished parts using precision measuring tools.
- Maintain clear communication across shifts and document actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Qualifications for TIG Welder:
- High school diploma or GED required; welding certification from a trade school preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of TIG welding experience, with a preference for experience with exotic metals.
- Must meet ITAR definition of a U.S. person under ยง120.15.
- Ability to pass the D17.1 National Standard Weld Test and any customer-specific weld tests as needed.
- Basic mechanical and mathematical skills related to welding.
- Prior experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment; aerospace industry experience preferred.
