Troutman Pepper Strategies is seeking 1-2 interns for the 2025 Georgia Legislative Session. Interns will observe, learn and support the legislative process through direct experience during Georgia’s 40-day legislative session at the Georgia State Capitol. This fulltime, paid internship provides an excellent opportunity for college students and beyond to receive valuable time with the Georgia General Assembly and government affairs professionals. Interns will also work alongside TPS’s clients, which include several Fortune 500 companies, Georgia based organizations, trade associations, and non-profits. The internship will begin the first week of January 2025 and shall last the length of the legislative session.
Duties of interns shall include:
Monitoring and attending committee hearings in and around the Georgia State Capitol.
Conducts research and prepares weekly written reports, briefs and memos on client subject area topics and questions.
Utilizing software to track relevant client legislation.
Organizing & staffing TPS hosted events on and off site.
Scheduling meetings with General Assembly Members and other key decision-makers for TPS and TPS clients.
Supporting and coordinating with the Government Affairs team to stay abreast on critical and emerging government activities including changes in government and policy relevant to TPS business.
Performs research and monitoring to obtain knowledge of relevant policy and government affairs issues, and economic/market developments related to TPS’s clients to proactively identify emerging issues and help in the development of government affairs strategies.
Working side-by-side with the Troutman Pepper Strategies team, our interns get an exclusive lens into the legislative process with opportunities to build their networks and learn skills that will set them up for success in all future career goals.
