Join Americare as a Talent Development Manager
We’re seeking an experienced Talent Development Manager to join Americare’s team, supporting organizational growth and employee development. Based remotely in the greater St. Louis, Springfield, or Kansas City, MO areas with 30-40% travel, this role will drive impactful strategies to enhance skills, foster a high-performance culture, and promote organizational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will lead learning and development initiatives, manage leadership development, and oversee performance management programs in partnership with our business leaders.

Position Summary: The Talent Development Manager plays a key role in the growth and development of Americare’s talent. This role makes enterprise-wide impact by creating and executing strategies that enhance employee capabilities, foster a high-performance culture, and drive organizational effectiveness. By assessing training and leadership development needs, developing learning strategies, and evaluating the effectiveness of development initiatives they will ensure we deliver on a high- performing and engaged workforce. This role works in partnership across the business to address our strategic goals by providing leadership in the following critical areas:

Leadership:
- Demonstrate leadership in accordance with Americare’s vision, mission and values.
- Build and lead the Talent Development team to enable Americare to achieve its strategic goals.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with all levels of Americare co-workers, operators, external partners, vendors, and the public.
- Prepare budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources. Present figures as part of the People team’s cost center in the Company operating plan; manage expenditures, monitor monthly expenses and report variances as appropriate.
- Manage all vendor relationships within the Talent Development scope of responsibility.
- Adheres to the Americare Mission/Vision, Home Town Hospitality and F.A.M.I.L.Y. Values, Employee Culture Statement and Company Policy and Procedures.
Learning and Organizational Development:
- Design, develop and implement enterprise-wide LOD strategy and solutions that drive employee performance, engagement and business results.
- Define the Americare Talent Mobility Strategy and related Career Planning process.
- Meet with key leaders to understand the business outcomes essential for success; assess development needs, perform gap analyses, and identify emerging trends to meet current and future skill needs of Americare employees; build appropriate talent interventions and metrics to track progress against these goals.
- Assess and recommend technology-based learning and Human Capital Management platform(s) supporting the full spectrum of adult development (i.e. skills, technology, relationships, change management, project management, leadership, etc.); demonstrate proficiency in modern learning strategies and tools including online, mobile, micro, social, blended, gamification and learning management systems.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and external communication vendors to market learning opportunities throughout the organization and externally.
- Design, develop and oversee the administration of continuing education and tuition reimbursement programs.
- Oversee the administration of the Americare Learning Management System and assigned coursework.
- Assess the mix of talent development tools and solutions developed in-house and resources from external vendors to ensure educational and training concepts are realized.
- Evaluate all strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals and desired business outcomes.
Training Design and Delivery:
- Develop, deliver, and facilitate a variety of workforce development initiatives and learning events across the company through various platforms (i.e. classroom, webinar, virtual).
- Conduct employee training and development programs to enhance individual and organizational capabilities.
- Provide Train the Trainer sessions to meet on-going business needs; coach, upskill/reskill re training and facilitation best practices.
Leadership Development:
- Work with the leadership team to identify key leadership competencies. Develop and manage competency frameworks and models, providing comprehensive development tools for each identified competency.
- Support the definition and administration of Individual Development Plan processes with Americare leaders and employees. Coach and consult on the selection of developmental opportunities (i.e. stretch assignments/action learning assignments) to support the development of Americare’s high potential talent.
- Support in defining the enterprise-wide Succession Planning process. Partner with assigned resources to ensure the effective and efficient execution of the process, to include individual and team development.
- Design, develop and lead innovative leadership development initiatives and programs that support the strategic direction of the organization and align with leadership competencies; develop learning roadmaps for leaders at all levels enterprise-wide.
- Develop quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure the impact of leadership learning solutions on leader effectiveness, engagement and retention; modify programs as needed to support the evolving needs of the business.
- Provide talent guidance to internal leaders in areas such as needs assessment, identification and recommendation of leadership development learning solutions and OD interventions.
Organizational Effectiveness:
- Consult with key stakeholders to develop and support the execution of change management plans.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of how the Talent Development programs impact Americare’s business success.
- Partner with leadership to understand changing workforce processes and workflows; determine required employee and leadership development support and structures needed to maximize talent and structure.
- Partner with CPO to analyze and develop organizational structure recommendations to support efficiency and effectiveness.
- Communicate strategic value to key stakeholders to generate commitment to key deliverables.
- Navigate organizational challenges, lead by influence, and bring critical stakeholders to consensus through successful facilitation of critical decision-making meetings.
Performance Management:
- Under leadership guidance, develop structured performance review processes, including self- assessments, peer reviews, and manager evaluations. Ensure these processes are standardized, consistent, and aligned with company values and goals.
- Implement performance management practices that recognize and reward employee achievements. Create opportunities for employees to provide feedback and be involved in goal- setting processes.
- Regularly communicate updates, changes, and best practices related to performance management.
- Conduct training sessions for managers on giving constructive feedback, setting goals, and conducting performance appraisals.
Program and Project Management:
- Flex and flow to lead through competing commitments and shifting priorities in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses to determine need, project scope and best training methodology to ensure that talent solutions (i.e. education, training, mentoring) fulfill the needs and objectives of the company.
- Develop project plans, related budgets, timelines, and complete required business planning documentation. Manage projects from inception to completion.
- Manage all aspects of program needs including coordination, logistics, marketing, delivery and documentation of training records.
- Prepare reports, including charts and graphs, and present recommendations for action plans to management.
- Plan and lead short- and long-term planning for Talent Development programs.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education or Human Resources, required. Masters strongly preferred.
Designations/Certifications:
ATD-CPLP, ATD-Master Certifications, Institute of Organizational Development (IOD) Certifications, Change Management (i.e. Prosci, IMA-AIM) Certified, and S/PHR or S/CP preferred.
Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in roles responsible for organizational development, culture change, leadership and people development. Experience in the integration of leadership development and talent management strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years supervisory experience in talent management and/or development required.
- Strongly prefer healthcare industry talent development experience; but not required.
- Strong technical/professional expertise in the areas of adult learning, learning and leadership development, organizational development consulting and learning/instructional design.
- Extensive experience in conducting a comprehensive training needs assessment to identify learning gaps and opportunities to elevate organizational competencies.
- Strong project management skills, including a proven track record of leading large, complex projects using standard project management practices and tools.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, communication and consulting skills. Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, deliver and partner at the most senior levels in the organization.

- Experienced using a variety of HCM platforms, data analytic tools, and talent management applications.
Physical Demands:
This position must have the ability to handle computer tasks of some complexity in a variety or an independent and responsible manner. The must also have the ability to work accurately and efficiently with attention to detail while following protocol. This role needs to have a full understanding and ability to utilize a computer and learn required software as designated by company protocol. Employee must also have an understanding and ability to follow all regulations and policies by the State and Board of Directors. Employee must have communication skills to be able to interact with Home Health and Americare staff.
The physical demands of this position include;
- Standing, sitting, walking, changing of position, reaching, extending hands & arms, reach across midline, crouching, balancing, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting or carrying 25lbs & push and pull 100 lbs.
Sensory Demands:
- Auditory: to hear and understand verbal request,
- Visually: be able to read necessary information to complete work tasks,

Safety Equipment:
- It is mandatory to follow safety policies and procedures including use carts when moving items as well as all personal protective equipment. Rather than lift heavy objects, break down items to smaller quantity.
- Use of seatbelt when operating or traveling in a car. Inly handsfree technology when operating a motor vehicle.
- Mandatory reporting of all work-related injuries within 12 hours to supervisor with participation in required documentation.
- Participation in our drug and alcohol testing procedures is a mandatory part of employment with this company.
OSHA Exposure: Category III, not at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.
Work Environment:
30-40% travel is required to various facilities, conferences, and meetings and will include overnight stays. This is an exempt position with core working hours week of Monday through Friday, 8-5, and required additional hours based on the amount of time necessary to perform the job responsibilities.
