SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated intern to join our team for a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the daily operations of our department. The intern reports to the Manager of Tax Accounting. This is an in-person internship and is based in our Rochester, NY office. The internship is full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer semester (June, July, August), with a pay rate of $18 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compliance: Prepare various federal, state, and miscellaneous tax returns monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Accounting and Reporting: Assist in preparing tax provisions and effective rates monthly, quarterly, and at year-end.
- Process Improvement: Understand and enhance current processes and documentation.
- Research: Analyze domestic tax issues, including state and local tax questions, and other related matters.
- Special Projects: Aid in identifying, researching, and analyzing tax issues and planning opportunities, including due diligence reviews on potential acquisitions.
- Performance of other duties, as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in O365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and maintain objectivity.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
- Currently pursuing a degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
