Tax Director at American Senior Communities

The primary responsibilities center around the timely preparation and filing of business and individual tax returns for various entities and their owners.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Serve the individual owners and their business entities by preparing various federal and state tax returns, performing tax-related research, providing tax strategy consultation as necessary, and serving as a resource to address questions from the family members.
- Entity/filing types: Partnerships, Trusts, S & C Corps, Private Foundations, Tax Exempts, Personal Property, Gift Tax, and Individual returns
- Oversee quarterly and annual regulatory and tax preparation, submissions and disclosures.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of beneficial ownership interests as required under the Corporate Transparency Act.
- Direct strategy to increase use of credits, incentives and other tax-related accounting items.
- Coordinate response to all tax correspondence and audit requests.
- Consistently exercise sound judgment, display professionalism, and maintain a high degree of credibility, independence, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Supervise supporting staff and coordinate with company management and financial leadership teams.
- Attend conferences and professional development opportunities relevant to the role and as required to maintain licensure.
- Perform any other duties that reasonably may be required of the –Family Office Tax Director.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA license, to remain active by meeting continuing professional education requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting preferred.
