About the Job
Responsible for and assist with various special projects. Assist with preparation and completion of federal and state corporate income tax returns and quarterly provision. Identifies tax planning opportunities and recommends strategies to minimize tax liability by researching appropriate tax guidance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for and assist with special projects as needed, such as the tax provision, international tax and indirect taxes
- Assist with the integration of newly acquired subsidiaries into the tax compliance process
- Assist with preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns to ensure returns are completed accurately and timely
- Participates in various tax planning projects, such as, accounting methods changes, impacts of U.S. tax reform etc.
- Perform tax research and prepare tax memoranda to document tax analyses and conclusions
- Monitor tax legislative and regulative developments, and assesses potential tax impacts
- Lead, coach and mentor members of the Tax Compliance team
- Respond to tax notices and assist with federal/state tax audits
- Proactively partner with Accounting, Treasury, Financial Planning and Legal teams in performing various tax functions
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA is preferred
- Five to eight years of corporate tax experience working with multi-state and federal tax returns
- Self-motivated, proactive, energetic individual with strong federal and state tax knowledge. Strong tax research and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented and with strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability in meeting competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communications skills with both tax and non-tax audience
- An independent thinker who works well with a team
- Strong technical acumen with Microsoft Office Suite; tax compliance software, preferably OneSource
