Tax Manager, International Indirect Tax - Amazon

Amazon is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Tax Controllership team. We are looking for someone to help transform the way we manage tax controllership at Amazon by deconstructing existing processes, analyzing them, optimizing, automating, and rebuilding them, maximizing the use of technology. Maximizing the use of technology solutions is essential to meet the challenges of tax controllership across various tax domains. We are a team within the controllership organization responsible for operationalizing the use of technology to the maximum extent possible and rolling this out and enabling our tax controllership colleagues to successfully use these solutions. This might involve constructing new tax controllership automation or enabling our colleagues to use existing technology to its maximum advantage. An experienced tax technology professional is sought to help us address this field of work globally. Key job responsibilities - Drive the analysis of controllership teams' needs and designing new controllership tools and processes across various tax domains. - Identify and articulate the technology needs and constructing tax technology solutions. - Think big and have the chance to input into the long-term global strategy. - Demonstrate strong bias for action and the ability to deliver results, driving solutions over the line. - Thrive in highly complex distributed system environments and strong communication skills to convey your vision of solutions. - Work alongside members of the controllership teams and partner with other technology teams. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex) experience - Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database language Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $80,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $172,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
