Job Summary:The Tax Managing Director (PCS) is responsible for providing tax and consulting services to our high net worth clients as well as managing, developing and growing the local Private Client Services practice.Job Duties:Coordinates and performs tax planning, preparation and research for high net worth individuals and related business, trusts, estates, and charitable entitiesOversees client engagements, supervises and reviews work of staff members, and works closely with clients as well as internal managers and partnersConsults with high net worth clients with written tax advice or responses to IRS inquiriesCoordinates with national Private Client Services team as well as communicating and implementing initiatives in the local practice officeActively grows Private Client Services practice in the local market through business development initiativesTax ComplianceEnsures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual (TQM)Conducts top level review of tax filings and resolves all tax issues with client; involves specialists where appropriateManages engagements to achieve engagement management metrics and practices hands-on client service deliveryResponsible for overall client service by encouraging team’s adherence to TQM policies (including engagement letters, documentation, etc.)ResearchIdentifies when research is needed; clearly and concisely frames issues to be researched; and reports the analysis Identifies complex issues to be researched by engagement team and provides research methodology for efficient research processInvolves technical reviewers for written tax advice in an area of expertise, as applicable to roleStrategy DevelopmentIntroduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the position of clients, the Firm, or Firm personnel, e.g.by reducing taxes or expenses or providing non-tax benefitsPresents complex strategies to clients and prospective clientsOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities:Builds a team of professionals by training and working together to serve our high net worth clients with timely responses to their needsSupervises Associates, Senior Associates and Managers on all projectsReviews work prepared by Associates, Senior Associates and Managers and provides review commentsEnsures that Associates and Senior Associates are trained on all current software toolsActs as a Career Advisor to Associates, Senior Associates and ManagersManages workload of Associates, Senior Associates and ManagersProvides verbal and written performance feedback to Associates, Senior Associates and ManagersQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelors degree in Accounting, required Masters degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferredExperience:Ten (10) or more years of public accounting experience working in the private client area, (i.e
