Our Tax practice seeks an experienced professional with technical tax experience working with large corporate, multi-national companies and SEC registrants to join our Manufacturing and Distribution (M&D) Tax team as a Senior . In this role you wil l conduct sophisticated tax review, compliance, and advisory services to our valued clients in the manufacturing, retail, distribution and shipping industries .

T he preferred location for the position is in our Long Island (Woodbury NY) office. However, t his is a national practice, and the position can also take place in our New York or New Jersey offices.

What You Will Do:

• 
  Provide tax compliance and advisory services to partnerships, corporations (C Corp and S- Corp) for a variety of clients in the manufacturing, distribution, real estate, insurance, private equity, and emerging business industries
  
• Lead the execution of client engagements including planning, budget, supervision and review of work completed by other tax staff members
• Prepare/review calculations of estimated payments and tax filing extensions
• Prepare tax returns on large more complex tax engagements
• Keep firm Tax Managers and Partners informed on engagement progress and any important issues discovered that need resolution
• Research tax issues and findings that may impact clients' federal, state, and local tax planning events
• Conduct online tax research using tools such CCH Intelliconnect and tax preparation using CCH Axcess and other applicable tax software programs
• Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS and other tax authorities, and represent clients at any potential tax audits
• Advise clients on critical issues identified that impact their tax position and provide appropriate solutions
• Develop and sustain strong client working relationships
• Participate in client proposals and new business development opportunities
  

What We Seek:

• 
  Years+ experience required : 3 + years of relevant tax experienceworking in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice, or a large corporate tax department
  
• 
  Education required : Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field required , and an advanced tax degree (MST, JD, LLM) is preferred
  
• 
  Certification require d/ preferred : CPA license or parts of the CPA exam preferred
  
• 
  Strong tax compliance, analysis, and tax research experience
  
• 
  Experience working with large corporate, multinational, and SEC registrants
  
• 
  Demonstrated aptitude in problem solving and decision making
  
• 
  Ability to successfully complete engagements on time and within budget
  
• 
  Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and other tax software programs
  
• 
  Ability to travel to client locations as needed
  
•

  The salary range for this role takes into account many factors including, but not limited to, years and type of experience, skill sets, and certifications. The projected salary range for this position is $76,000 - $174,000 .
