Tax Senior Manager/Partner - BMSS, LLC

BMSS, LLC is looking for a client-focused leader who values cultivating relationships internally and externally to join our Tax team as either a Senior Manager or potential Member. BMSS was established in Birmingham in 1991 and has grown to become a top 100 advisory and CPA firm in the U.S. We have four locations in Alabama (Hoover, Downtown Birmingham, Gadsden, Huntsville) as well as one in Mississippi (Ridgeland). We have openings in our Ridgeland, MS and Huntsville, AL offices. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for technical reviews on complex tax returns,(corporate, individual, and partnerships) as well as researching tax issues, providing recommendations on client specific issues, corporate and individual tax planning and developing relationships with clients. Many of our clients operate in multiple states so we are looking for multi-state experience. You will also be responsible for leadership of those on your client tax team, which could encompass coaching and mentoring or hands-on training. Relationships are a critical cornerstone at BMSS, and this role will be responsible for creating and cultivating relationships internally among the team and externally with the client.

Skills needed to be successful:

• Must have at least a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college/university.
• CPA is required
• Minimum of 8 years of experience reviewing complex business and/or personal tax returns, preferably with exposure to a variety of industries operating in a multi-state environment.
• Should have a proven track record of training and developing junior level staff.
• Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
