Job Details
The Tax Staff is primarily responsible for the preparation of partnership workpapers, K-1s, tax returns, and all other tax compliance obligations. Responsibilities also include research and participation in special projects. The Tax Staff must be able to handle deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires in-office work 4 days a week, 1 work from home day a week is allowed with the current policy.
Responsibilities
Prepare partnership, s-corporation, and c-corporation tax returns utilizing OneSource.
Assist in the preparation of compliance obligations, including partnership sale projections, fixed assets, allocations, state apportionments, gain calculations, extensions, K-1s, and tax returns.
Prepare workpapers and maintain detailed documentation and well-organized tax data records in document storage systems.
Assist with IRS and state tax authority tax notices and audits.
Communicate status of work and potential issues with seniors and managers on a timely
Identify accounting and income tax issues and propose strategies to resolve
Work with various departments, primarily accounting and finance, to gather information necessary for tax return preparation.
Stay current on latest tax law changes and take advantage of continuing education opportunities.
Perform tax research and participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree required in Accounting, Finance, or another Business-Related field.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve
Able to work overtime as needed to meet investor and governmental deadlines.
Preferred:
Master’s degree in taxation.
CPA eligibility before start
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, proactive, ambitious focused.
Strong sense of personal responsibility for tasks
Ability to work both collaboratively and
Ability to work and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
