We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Support Associate for one of our mortgage industry clients. This position offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in property tax research and support services.
As a Tax Support Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting our client’s mortgage operations by conducting online property and tax searches through tax assessor and collector websites. You will also be responsible for liaising with various governmental and third-party entities to gather necessary tax-related information. This position is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and an interest in property tax research. While prior experience in tax lien research is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Perform online property and tax searches using tax assessor and collector websites to obtain accurate and up-to-date information.
- Conduct research on tax liens and other related property tax matters.
- Communicate with Tax Assessors, Tax Collectors, County Clerks, Building Departments, Water/Sewer Companies, and third-party Lien Holders to gather necessary information and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of all research and communications.
- Provide support and assistance to the broader mortgage operations team as needed.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience, preferably in property tax research or a similar field.
- Prior experience in tax lien research is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using online databases and research tools.
