About the Job
Performs duties as assigned by the Principal, under the supervision of the classroom teacher. Provides assistance to teachers.
- Monitors students in cafeteria and recess. Intervenes when issues arise. Contact office/nurse in the event of injury at recess or in cafeteria.
• Assist in monitoring student activities such as tests, drills, and practices and gives individual assignments as requested by the principal or teacher of class to which assigned.• Assists with recording students' grades and maintains records as requested by principal or teacher to which assigned.• Operates computers, copy machines, public address system, and audio visual equipment. • Trains volunteers in use of office machines.• Orders and maintains workroom supplies.• Performs non-instructional duties, such as monitoring the lunchroom, library, playroom and playground. • Substitutes when the secretary is absent and assists with office duties as needed.• Assists teachers in upgrading the instructional programs.• Accompanies groups on field trips as assigned.• Maintains confidentiality of student information.• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
