About the Job
The rolet will be responsible for supporting the Product Owner/scrum team to deliver product features based on business priorities. This role will be responsible for defining data requirements across ingestion, integration, transformation, and provisioning based on business requirements.
The Data/Business Analyst will be expected to bring significant technical skill in SQL, Hive, Drools, API development, etc., and will be responsible for obtaining and translating business rules requirements into technical solutions. The Data/Business Analyst will work in a highly matrixed organization with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, management and analyst support, and across SMEs in other CDP and CDEP Leads.
Key Role Activities
- Facilitate data/technical design sessions to understand and capture functional and non-functional design and rules requirements using SQL, HIVE and Python
- Write data and technical user stories ensuring definition of ready and executable
- Partner with Product Owner to ensure user stories are assigned to springs based on priorities
- Conduct source to target mapping and lineage activities to identify appropriate source for data using Drools
- Perform data analysis using SQL and Python to decompose data transformations and understand logic for data elements
- Write technical rules and configure in rules library through rule creation/implementation lifecycle
- Assist with conceptual and logical data model design and requirements definition
- Raise data related execution issues/risks to Product Owner and help identify remediation approach
- Support testing activities, including user acceptance testing
- Support data defect remediation activities during development/deployment activities
- Mentor less experienced Data Analysts
Skills Required:
- 4+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Agile experience, including story writing and working in a scrum team
- Experience working in Jira
- Experience performing data mapping and lineage
- SQL / HiveQL skills
- Familiarity with Hadoop / HDFS / Hive
- Familiarity with Teradata
- QA / UAT skills
- Experience performing business requirement analysis
Skills Desired:
- Experience within the Consumer data environment a plus, or equivalent experience from another leading financial services company
- UNIX, BTEQ skills
- Familiarity with Python or a similar programming language for data analysis / data wrangling is a plus
- Familiarity with Hue, Dremio, or other similar data workbenches is a plus
- Experience with DROOLS, rules development, and rules management
- Experience with Cloud-first data architecture
- Prior exposure to data governance documentation and standards
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
