Engineering Product Manager
Renu Robotics is a Robotics Technology Company (Software and Hardware) that is addressing one of the most pressing and least talked about elements of the renewable energy transition: site management. For many solar projects, vegetation management can be up to 30% of operations cost and can have major implications for the longevity and reliability of solar infrastructure. Renu’s revolutionary robotic platform solves this problem by providing a scalable solution to vegetation management, enabling the rapid growth of solar projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Strategy and Vision:
- Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy in alignment with company objectives.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback collection to identify opportunities and define product roadmaps.
- Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
2. Product Development:
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications.
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and user stories for the engineering team.
- Lead the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.
- Monitor and manage the progress of product development, addressing any issues or roadblocks that arise.
3. Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact between engineering and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration.
- Present product updates and progress reports to stakeholders, including executives and other teams.
- Gather input from stakeholders and incorporate it into the product development process as appropriate.
4. Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Work with QA teams to ensure the product meets quality standards and is free of defects.
- Oversee user testing and beta programs to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all technical and user documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
5. Product Launch and Post-Launch Activities:
- Plan and coordinate product launches, working with marketing, sales, and support teams to ensure successful rollouts.
- Monitor product performance post-launch, analyzing metrics and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the product lifecycle, making decisions on product updates, upgrades, and end-of-life strategies.
6. Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the product development budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Allocate resources effectively, balancing project timelines, team capacity, and business priorities.
Qualifications:
- MUST BE A US CITIZEN
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Experience:
- 7+ years- Proven experience in product management, particularly in an engineering or technology-focused role.
- Experience managing product strategy or strategic product management in B2B tech startups
- and scaleups, big tech, and/or consulting, ideally with experience in mixed hardware and software portfolios
- Experience working closely with engineering teams to develop complex software or hardware products.
Skills:
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and engage in technical discussions with engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Experience in energy/renewables is desired but not required.
- Comfortable managing and prioritizing a complex platform product
- Comfortable with developing and improving business models, including setting product pricing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a startup environment or with rapidly scaling products.
- Knowledge of specific industry standards, such as software development best practices, hardware design, or regulatory requirements.
- Experience in leading or managing a team of engineers or product managers.
