Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in C++.
- 5 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- 5 years of experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a changing organization.
- Experience with Java or Go, with the ability to resolve customer-related issues.
- Experienced in developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
- Knowledge of network architectures, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, etc.), and technologies, as well as concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Software Engineers, guide technical direction, and support collaboration.
- Design, develop, and improve systems that connect customer networks to Google Cloud.
- Work with different teams across Google to create and launch new products and features.
- Review code and designs from other engineers to ensure quality and consistency.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest networking technologies and trends.
