Technical Sales Specialist-Shrink Film
Position Purpose:The primary mission of this individual is to partner with IPG Sales Representatives to provide technical sales support to ensure that effective technical solutions are developed which fulfill the customers' requirements. Individual will help develop, service and grow top line sales and profitability of Exlfilm Shrink Film with distributor partners within the Industrial Channel.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical knowledge of packaging systems and products and can provide solutions for customers to integrate our systems into new or existing production lines. This person will serve as the technical and subject matter expert when assisting sales. This person will often need to identify, develop, create, and communicate unique and/or customized programs to solve specific customer needs from a technical standpoint.
Principle Accountabilities
- Technical Sales Specialist is required to be knowledgeable with polyolefin shrink films and shrink equipment performance, features, and capabilities.
- Support the sales team with deep technical knowledge to identify customer needs, solve customer problems and close the sale. Effectively communicate the IPG value to our customers.
- Assist in the development, definition, and documentation of Technical Sales 'best practices" including but not limited to: Value Analysis, Quarterly Review, Time Studies, Annualized Cost Saving Programs, and End User Training Programs.
- Provide technical guidance and expertise in customer meetings regarding implementation and execution, best practices, products and features, partnerships, etc.
- Gather sales and customer feedback and requests for product development consideration.
- Partner with the Business Development Specialists - Shrink Film and Territory Business Managers that support the territory by providing expertise in Shrink Film to support their achievement of revenue and Net CM$ goals.
- Support end user and distributor opportunities as assigned by the Vice President - Films
- Keep management up to date with competitive information such as new products, competitive price books, and price increase and decrease letters.
- Stay up to date on Shrink Film technology advancements and new use cases.
- Along with the Business Development Specialist manage distributor business and maintain/develop existing relationships.
- Actively participate in all team meeting, calls, training sessions.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 2 years of meaningful, relevant work experience in the technical resolution of packaging systems and products.
- Basic technical understanding of packaging equipment and operations preferred.
- Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical people
- Strong problem solver with organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Outgoing, self-starter who can work independently.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong team player.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite
- Commitment to company values.
- Willing and able to travel 50% of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $68,300-$80,000/year
