JOB PURPOSE: Assist County employees by installing & maintaining personal computers and related peripheral equipment. Provides technical & general assistance to users in solving hardware and software related problems. This position is 40 hours per week, with a full benefits package. Pay is commensurate with experience with a range of $24.87 - $29.75/hr. Performs all other related work as required. Please note, applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid State of Maine driver's license;
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- At least two (2) years’ experience in computer support;
- Microsoft Windows and Office experience;
- A and Net certification preferable.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists all County personnel by providing technical support installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware and software.
- Perform operating system and application upgrades, security systems, email, virus protection, and other software maintenance activities.
- Helps correct operating deficiencies or other difficulties by conducting research and locating software upgrades and patches.
- Assures equipment performance by performing fault isolation tests, and if needed, transporting the defective equipment to the computer maintenance area or vendor as necessary.
- Successful completion of Dell Certified Repair Technician certification, and utilization of Dell self-maintainer program to diagnose, order, and replace all hardware components.
- Provide first level technical assistance and support for incoming helpdesk tickets using the Helpdesk dashboard, email or phone. In many cases, phone support and verbal communication will be necessary.
- Document actions and resolutions within helpdesk ticket. Resolve incoming tickets in a timely manner, providing onsite assistance if needed.
- Follow all organization policies and procedures.
- Maintain & document inventory of equipment and devices.
- Create and update technical documents.
- Supports the County’s safety and health policies by attending required safety training programs; reporting all accidents and suspected safety hazards to supervisor.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required, directed or as the situation dictates.
