Position Overview:
ANSER is seeking a technical writer to support our work with the CHIPS Research and Development Office (CRDO). As a technical writer you will draft, write, or edit technical communications for a variety of audiences in a variety of formational categories (i.e., consumer-directed technical writing, expert-to-expert technical writing, or technical marketing content). Writing may include user manuals, handbooks, brochures, standard operating procedures, scientific papers, technical notes, white papers, press releases, speech writing, and award nominations.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Writing, reviewing, and editing a variety of documents.
- Compiling technical descriptions, data graphs, charts and narratives into digestible documents, presentations, and white papers.
- Successfully working under tight deadlines while applying high standards of writing and grammar rules as well as technical writing and configuration management principles to all documents generated.
- Partner with subject matter experts in engineering, workforce planning, research, data analytics on narratives, documentation of research findings, assessments, and program strategies.
- Other writing projects on ad hoc basis.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, technical or related fields.
- A minimum of 8 years’ hands on technical writing experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the semiconductor, microelectronics or wireless industries.
- Experience generating technical documentation (including text and chart graphics) with Microsoft Office suite, Visio, and Adobe FrameMaker, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Experience with HTML or XML preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Prior experience working with government agencies.
- Experience/knowledge of supporting policy and process improvement activities.
