Technical Writer - Edge Autonomy

WORK LOCATION: San Luis Obispo, CA or Huntsville, AL

SALARY RANGE: Huntsville, AL: $85,191 - $109,733; San Luis Obispo, CA: $95, 940 - $123, 579

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SUMMARY

Edge Autonomy is seeking a technical writer to create manuals, capturing and documenting all phases of processes from assembly to creation of a finished product, writing procedures for multiple departments in the creation of proprietary products.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties. 

• Technical Writer arranges visual material for production, update material as improvement occur, and keep abreast of industry changes for operating and assembly reports.
• Aviation technical writing experience and energy fueled/battery required
• Knowledge of DOD technical publications regulatory requirements and aviation industry
• Ability to create material to illustrate aircraft parts and assemblies
• Interact with all levels of staff, from Assemblers to Senior Management for information, process and knowledge of the products built to create company manuals
• Capture in detail the department to department skills to outline the methods of building a drone
• Working background of military and aircraft verbiage for writing procedures manuals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

• Ability to create material to illustrate aircraft parts and assemblies.
• 5 years’ experience in Aviation/Military technical writing
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
