About the Team
Intertek's Electrical team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification for a variety of electric products, including appliances, consumer electronics, lighting, medical devices, information communications technology, HVACR, industrial, and energy transmission and distribution. Our dedicated professionals help ensure the quality, safety, and sustainability of electrical products used by people throughout the world.
What are we looking for?
This Technician III position is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, calibration, maintenance, or clean-up.
What you'll do:
- Set up test apparatus
- Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations
- Provide an exceptional customer experience to all customers throughout the onsite testing
- Interact with customers in a professional manner including appearance and attitude
- Diligent safety practices, knowledge of OSHA standards, and use of safety equipment as required by management
- Work closely with lead/ team members and take direction to complete projects within certain policies and procedures
- Daily cleanup and maintenance of projects, work equipment, work site, vehicles and organize all tools and materials
- Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
- Troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
- Perform other duties as required
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in equipment management and calibration
- Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
- Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools
- Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
- Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written and presentation formats
- Must be customer focused and quality driven
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to travel, up to 15%
Preferred requirements and qualifications
- Trade school certification or associate degree in technical field
- 7+ years of relatable experience
- OSHA safety certification
- Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office
