The general role of a Telecom Technician I – Wireless Services is to safely and efficiently complete equipment installations, repairs, and upgrades at communication sites on the ground under the supervision of trained personnel. This work will be performed in both commercial and industrial locations.
This individual will represent Pillar Innovations in a safe, professional, and courteous manner. This position will require a flexible schedule which may include extensive travel, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
The Telecom Technician I will report to the Department Manager – Wireless Services and will work primarily out of their assigned location.
What You'll Do
- Build, install, troubleshoot, and repair customer communications sites to include expansion and upgrades to new and existing wireless networks
- Observe and report possible defects or hazards in equipment and work site
- Accurately following instructions and completing assigned course of action in accordance with scope of work and methods of procedures (MOPs)
- Complete physical material inventory upon delivery
- Perform pre-work and post-work site audits
- Learn to read and understand site documents such as construction drawings and methods of procedures (MOPs)
- Learn to identify, troubleshoot, and correct equipment and network functionality
- Document job costs, including labor hours and material in an accurate and timely manner

What You'll Bring
- 0- 1 year of experience building, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing wireless service infrastructure
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to successfully obtain certifications such as: RF Awareness, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR
- Ability and attitude to follow rigid job safety standards and properly utilize specialized Personal Protective Equipment
- Willingness to take on and learn new tasks and skills
- Ability to work effectively as an individual or a member of a team
- Willingness to work in extreme environmental conditions
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English is required
Working Conditions
- Walk, crawl or kneel / use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders, stairs, or other elevated/ fixed structures for extended periods of time
- Sit/stand for extended periods of time
- Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
- Wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA/ANSI requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, required PPE for elevated work, fire retardant clothing, protective eye wear, etc.
- Be safety and customer-focused, without exception

This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. In accordance with The Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy, employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
