Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Mechanic I to join our team at Fort Johnson. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications systems and equipment. This position requires a Secret Clearance and compliance with DOD 8140 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation: Install and configure telecommunications equipment, including telephones, radios, and network systems.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on telecommunications systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Repair: Diagnose and repair faults in telecommunications equipment, utilizing specialized tools and testing equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users and other technical staff.
• Compliance: Adhere to all security and operational procedures in accordance with DOD 8140 compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications installation and maintenance.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in telecommunications systems and equipment; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required.
• Compliance: Must meet DOD 8140 compliance standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and elevated heights.
