About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Telemetry **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 19:00-07:00 **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 or 48 hours per week, must be indicated. **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year in telemetry (inpatient only) **License:** Current RN License with eligibility for licensure in Missouri or already licensed in Missouri **Certifications:** - Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, 4 trauma credits (or completion within the first two weeks of start), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) (can be submitted without, but must obtain prior to start) - Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association **Must-Have:** - 1 year of telemetry experience - Flexible and determined personality - Ability to float on a rotational basis **Job Description:** - Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. - Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. - Function within the nursing scope and established guidelines of practice. - Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. - Maintain professional accountability for providing patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. - Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. - Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. - Maintain compliance with guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and the organization's mission and values. - Stand and walk most of the time during duty hours; meet unit-specific physical demands. - Engage in significant bending and stooping, and lift and turn patients with assistance. - Work differing schedules, shifts, and days of the week or frequency according to patient care requirements. - Prepare for high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids. - Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and service standards of the organization.
