About the Job
We, the Quality Team, are looking for a Technician to work onsite at one or more of our customers production factories. The role involves performing inspection and functional testing of our server CPU products that have failed on our customers production lines. The information from that inspection and testing will be captured and sent to the Quality team on a daily basis. Regular assembly, firmware updates and debugging of the test platform will be needed.
The Person:
Ability to commute to one or more factory production facilities in the [Insert City] and surrounding area.
Organized, with attention to detail and ability to follow a defined test process
Can work in a production facility with limited direct supervision from the Quality Team.
Experience with computer system assembly and operation.
Experience with ESD protocols and handling of computer processors is a plus.
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to follow and comprehend written training materials a must
May require lifting/moving up to 40lbs of hardware at times
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspection and testing of customer CPU line rejects. The operator will receive line rejects from the customer on a daily basis. Each day they will log relevant information about the parts into a data capture tool, then begin inspection of each part. The inspection involves looking for physical anomalies and damage. Then the operator will follow a specific protocol to clean the part. Then the part will be tested on a specialized tester looking for electrical damage. Following that, the part will be functionally tested on a system platform provided by the Quality team. The results of this process will be logged in the data capture tool and sent to the Quality team at the end of each day.

Setup and Maintain test equipment. The operator will assemble a server-based computer test platform, following instructions provided by the Quality team. Qualify the test setup, and debug issues following the Quality teams debug guide. Regular updates to the test equipment (flashing BIOS, updating firmware, installing new OS).
Preferred Experience:
2+ yearsexperience with PC based systems in an assembly, production or test environment
Experience handling server systems and components in an ESD-safe environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.) - Familiarity with Linux/Ubuntu OS environment, including basic command line functionality
High school diploma required, and must be accompanied by work experience in relevant field
Technical certification or Associates Degree in Computer Systems preferred
