Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee a variety of recreational therapy programs to improve the well-being and enjoyment of our residents.
- Develop a diverse range of activities, such as games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, outings, and special events, tailored to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create an engaging and inclusive environment for residents to participate in recreational programs.
- Assess the interests and abilities of residents to design individualized recreational plans.
- Manage and maintain recreational equipment and supplies, ensuring their availability and functionality.
- Document and maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress, and outcomes.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in therapeutic recreation to continually improve program offerings.
- Coordinate with external community organizations and resources to enhance the recreational opportunities available to residents.
- Provide guidance and support to recreation staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Director Assistant (Activity Director Assistant) in accordance with the Public Health Code required.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Demonstrate tactful interpersonal skills when interacting with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
- Exhibit patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, while adapting to residents' varying levels of maturity.
