ExoTerra is a world leader in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites, and launch vehicle upper stages. The company is growing rapidly and has been awarded a number of propulsion module and satellite contracts.
Job Summary:
ExoTerra is seeking a full-time Thermal Engineer Co-Op/Intern. The hired employee will be responsible for completing design, analysis, and test tasks as they relate to Hall-effect Thrusters, xenon and krypton propellant flow control systems, and electronic power systems.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Perform thermal analyses, in accordance with industry standards, of systems ranging from components to entire spacecraft, in order to support design development, verify customer requirements, and ensure functionality in thermally stressing space environments
Provide thermal support for multiple programs simultaneously
Understand customer-specified requirements, interface with customers, present analysis results to customers in design reviews, and prepare reports of analysis results for delivery to customers
Support thermal testing of components and propulsion systems
Correlate thermal models to test data
Support signoff of flight hardware for delivery to customers
Contribute to process and efficiency improvements
Communicate and collaborate effectively with various teams, including program management, design, manufacturing, analysis, etc.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Strong mathematical foundation (calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, etc.)
Strong written/verbal communication skills
Engaged learner
Self-starter
Must be eligible to work in the United States (Required)

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Experience with Thermal Desktop analysis software
Knowledge of principles of heat transfer and thermodynamics
Experience with spacecraft thermal analysis
Experience with thermal vacuum testing
Experience with space or satellite hardware
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
