TNG is seeking an individual with a deep understanding of education settings, student conduct matters, Title IX, and other civil rights laws to serve clients in a variety of engagements such as conducting investigations, serving as a hearing officer or advisor in campus hearings, providing policy reviews and client advice, developing and delivering training materials, and authoring thought leadership in service to the colleges, universities, schools, and other organizations that TNG serves.
The ideal candidates will have experience with Title IX in either higher education or K-12 setting, experience with formal, informal, or legal resolutions of contested matters, or some combination of similar or related topics. Experience with a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) or CARE team is a plus.
Candidates must have strong academic and employment records, excellent interpersonal ability, strong writing skills, an ability to work independently, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Polished and engaging presentation and training skills are a plus.
Incumbents should be prepared to travel for in-person trainings up to 50% of the year.

Key Responsibilities
The Consultant will:
- Engage in on-site and virtual Title IX consulting with higher education and K-12 clients throughout the country
- Conduct investigations on-site, by phone, and/or video conference relating to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, discrimination, retaliation, or other investigations as requested by TNG clients; prepare written investigation reports
- Conduct reviews of client policies, procedures, and protocols; provide written or oral reports and evaluations as necessary
- Develop, regularly revise, and update training materials and resources for clients and membership associations
- Contribute to whitepapers, newsletters, and other firm publications
- Prepare and review reports for expert witness engagements
- Regular travel to client sites, trainings, national conferences, and other events
- Promote TNG services to existing and prospective clients; communicate opportunities for follow up to the Business Development team
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required:
- 5+ years of full-time experience in higher education or K-12 administration, including direct work or substantial interface with Title IX
- Experience in human relations or employment law; civil rights laws; and/or investigations
- Graduate degree in education, or related field
- Thorough knowledge of TIX investigation regulations and processes
- Excellent presentation skills/ability to train others
- Ability to develop client relationships

- Understanding and commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Superior interview and analytical skills
- Excellent writing skills with experience writing in multiple formats (short and long form)
- Computer program proficiency, including the use of in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, secure file-sharing and network drives, and virtual meeting tools
Preferred:
- JD, Ph.D., or Ed.D.
- Strong track record conducting diverse Title IX, Title VII/EEO, student conduct, and other types of civil rights investigations
- Experience with Behavioral Intervention, previous work on a CARE or threat assessment team is a plus
