Torch Cutter - Intonu

TORCH CUTTER NEEDED FOR METALS RECYCLING PLANT!

Founded in 2009, Intonu has grown to be one of the leading metals recyclers in the Southeastern United States. Intonu recycles a variety of different materials, including ferrous and nonferrous metals, and electronics. Our broad spectrum of recycling capabilities provides our customers with a “one stop shop” for all of their recyclables. Our collection and processing facility is located on the west side of Atlanta, GA. 

We are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Torch Cutter. As a Torch Cutter you will be responsible for the accurate cutting of oversize or large ferrous/steel material through use of an oxy-fuel torch to an acceptable size as determined by industry specifications.

As a Torch Operator you must be able to work outside in all weather conditions while wearing the appropriate safety and weather protection gear.

We participate in E Verify. Post Offer Basic Physical, Drug Test, and Background. PPE required.

Summary/Objective Working in all weather conditions at the direction of supervisor to accomplish the production goals for the company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure materials are properly staged for processing.
• Cut oversized ferrous materials to industry specifications.
• Inspect and maintain all equipment for safe working conditions.
• Inspect and maintain area for trip/fall hazards.
• Maintain fire control.
• Work in a hot environment for long periods of time while wearing several layers of fire protective clothing and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including a hard hat, face shield, leather gloves and a respirator.
• Strictly adheres to all company and safety rules and regulations regarding the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with Oxy-Fuel torch preferred

Work Environment
This job exposes you to all elements. Working outside in all weather.

Physical Demands
Physically demanding work. Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Standing for long periods of time. Pushing, pulling, stooping, lifting, grasping, repetitive motion, hearing, talking, close visual acuity. Subject to noise and hazards.
