SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
The Town Manager is a Journeyman Lineman that provides electric services and Operator Qualification (OQ) training to respond to gas emergencies and perform gas-related service tasks. They are responsible for overall service throughout their area. When services require additional personnel, they will coordinate and assist with the work as needed.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Ensure all actions are consistent with Northwestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
- Communicate verbally to maintain safety on worksite and during emergency situations
- Troubleshoot power outages, utility concerns and power quality issues
- Perform low or high-voltage electrical work and meter-related service work as needed
- Complete service work related to gas distribution, as qualified or experienced as needed
- Perform sustained work at heights including on ladders and poles, and in buckets
- Locate underground services
- Delivery non pay notices and perform connects and disconnects for non-payment
- Perform service temporary connects/disconnects at the customer's request
- Install underground lines and retire overhead lines
- Frame, install, or replace poles
- Perform rubber-gloving techniques to safely service high voltage lines and equipment
- Fix streetlights and ready-guard lights
- Set meters to monitor electrical consumption
- Interact with the public and help resolve customer-billing and community involvement
- Complete documentation as required
- Assume leadership role in response to emergency situations
- Plan projects and direct crews to complete work in day to day and emergency situations
- Work as a team member to safely and efficiently complete work activities
- Assist in snow removal to maintain access to utility equipment
- Shovel dirt to dig or backfill trenches for underground services
- Work overtime including call out availability for evenings and weekends —especially in response to acute service needs
- Respond from home to primary work location within 15 minutes
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman Lineman
- Complete NWE Gas OQ and HAZMAT programs within 6 months of hire
- Weld and plastic fusion certified (as needed)
- Valid Commercial driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Computer skills essential
- Knowledge of applicable codes and safety policies/procedures
- Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Willing to act as project foreman
