RS&H is currently seeking a Transportation Engineering Associate to join our Infrastructure Practice in our Timonium, MD office working on a hybrid schedule!
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated, recent graduate civil engineer to join our rapidly growing Baltimore area office. As part of the Transportation Planning team, you will work under the guidance of senior staff in developing transportation concepts and conducting preliminary engineering as part of studies of multimodal corridors, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit systems and other transportation infrastructure projects. This position offers tremendous potential for growth, professional development and mentorship, and the opportunity to work with a team of outstanding multi-disciplinary professionals.
Essential Functions:
- Provides general support to the Transportation Planning Team in serving our clients on the state, regional and local levels
- Performs routine assignments in support of project activities including compiling data and analysis, researching, and assisting in the preparation of technical presentations, reports, studies and supporting exhibits/graphics.
- Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program
- 0-3 years of experience in Transportation Engineering and Planning
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate teamwork and ability to build relationships with others
- Have a passion for engineering and a willingness to grow and learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT/EI certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Prior internship or related engineering experience
- Coursework that includes Transportation Engineering, Planning and Design
- Have awareness of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.

Typical salary range for this position in Maryland is from $70,265 to $85,100 and commensurate with experience relative to the position
