Transportation Specialist / Driver – TEMP POSITION - North Carolina Hurricane Support

Job Overview:

The Transportation Specialist / Driver functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. They often coordinate, monitor, and control the movement of people, products, or materials. They provide accurate reporting of sheltering activity as assigned.

Each applicant interested in supporting in North Carolina will need to be ready to deploy and arrive at the designated site within 24-48 hrs. from the time of notice. Each applicant will need to complete an onboarding packet. It is uncertain as to the locations where personnel will be needed but will be located at staging areas established by State Agencies in various regions of the state.

Labor Rates: The following rate includes labor wages, lodging, per diem, and travel.

Case Manager Rate: $28/hr.

Overtime Rate: Time and a half

Shift: Up to 12 hrs./day – Up to 7 days/week

Location: TBD

Duties:

• Implement transportation policies and programs and provide technical guidance on regulations.
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation programs and administrative operations.
• Implement consultation and participation processes to engage with government agencies, the public, and civil society.
• Develop effective route strategies based on capacity, performance, and volume
• Transports facility residents to and from locations.
• Provide customer service duties, such as ensuring accurate communication changes.
• Perform basic mechanical checks.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 yrs. experience as a transportation worker.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform assigned tasks/be drug-free.
• Able to participate and contribute to regular meetings.
• Able to interact with the community in a clear, compassionate manner, respectful of diversity and unique needs.
• Pass a level 1 background check.
• Background in health care, and social work.
• Demonstrated experience within a customer service environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
