**Guaranteed Hours:** 40.00 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of CT experience on Siemens Equipment
**License:** NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
**Certifications:** ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
**Must-Have:** Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiological positioning, and mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware; thorough knowledge of the PACS system.
**Job Description:**
- Perform complex CT procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images.
- Utilize professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical history, ensuring documentation in PACS.
- Prepare, screen, and review the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with the patient or family member, scanning into EPIC.
- Identify and administer contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Verify patient prescriptions for appropriateness, communicating with Radiologists and Referring Physicians as needed.
- Call physicians to clarify prescriptions according to the appropriate CT protocols.
- Verify insurance authorization for exams and coordinate with Finance for re-verification as necessary.
- Obtain and schedule outside studies in EPIC for comparison by Radiologists.
- Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians or family members.
- Evaluate radiographs using the PACS System for proper identification and diagnostic value.
- Gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers for scanning protocols and patient safety.
- Determine patient preparedness for procedures and prep as necessary.
- Administer appropriate contrast types and dosages.
- Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to guidelines.
- Monitor patient conditions for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Maintain scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call assignments per department policy.
- Adhere to employee ID, standards of behavior, attendance, and punctuality policies.
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours a day.
- Identify patient population needs and modify care to be culturally and linguistically appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Preferred experience includes six months of CT experience and knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS system.
