- Assist the Occupational Therapist in executing treatment plans designed to improve residents’ ability to perform daily activities.
- Implement therapeutic exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques as outlined by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide encouragement and support to residents during therapy sessions.
- Help track and document patient progress, noting improvements or changes in functional abilities.
- Collaborate with the care team, including physical therapists, nurses, and other staff members, to deliver comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and families on at-home exercises and the use of adaptive equipment.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Active COTA license.
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
