About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $3166 To $3518 **Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Family Birthing Center (Labor and Delivery, OB, Mother/Baby) **Job Duration:** 16 weeks **Shift:** 12-hour Nights, Every Other Weekend **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP **Must-Have:** - 2 supervisory references (charge accepted) within specific timeframes - Completion of required modules before assignment starts **Job Description:** - Provide care in Labor and Delivery, Obstetrics-Antepartum and Postpartum, and Mother Baby units. - Work in units with 6 labor/mother-baby beds, 4 OB/Pediatric beds, and 1 reverse isolation room. - Maintain patient ratios of 1:2 for labor and delivery, 1:1 for delivery, and 1:4 for mother-baby couplets. - Utilize Cerner for electronic medical records. - Collaborate with charge nurses, who generally do not take patients but provide break relief. - Work alongside nurse aides as dictated by census and staffing needs. - Participate in every other weekend shift and rotate holidays with core staff. - Wear provided scrub color. - No tele or vent patients. - Access support from hospitalists or intensivists; OB available during the day and on call at night. - Engage with 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services. - Participate in self-scheduling, with schedules released 4 weeks in advance; make shift trades and mark availability for additional shifts. - Be prepared to float to other facilities if necessary; mid-shift floating is rare but possible. - Undergo 1-2 days of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor. - Attend to standard labor patients and float to Mother Baby as needed. - Assist with C-sections performed in the OR. - Coordinate transport for babies under 34 weeks or those who are unstable to a higher-level NICU. - Be aware of possible shift cancellations up to three times per contract.
