Job DetailsFlexible start dates - 8/20, 9/3, 9/17Hours are 12:00 noon – 8:30 PMMonday through Friday on site but available if needed on weekends, nights, etc. on a rotating basisCovers on-call with other Coordinators Monday-Friday 24/7 and rotates weekends for calls from staffResponsible for organizing, planning, leading, and directing clinical and management activities for the Perioperative Services areasAccountable for daily operations and oversight of nursing practice and patient care delivery on the evening shift of the departmentCollaborates with the Director of Perioperative Services, other Nurse Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesia, and Sterile Processing Management to develop evidence-based nursing care standardsEnsures that throughput of patients is maximizing efficiency in the OR and PACU on the evening shift so patients are not having long stays in the PACU and there are no patient delaysLeads staff to meet all Joint Commission, IDPH, and CMS regulatory standardsMust have knowledge of Collective Bargaining agreements, disciplinary process, hiring, supervision, and management of Perioperative Services staff
Job RequirementsBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a school of nursing with additional postgraduate coursework in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare AdministrationMust be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of IllinoisFive (5) years of recent nursing experience within a hospital environmentThree (3) years of recent Perioperative experience as a nurse supervisor or charge nurseMust possess active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
