All patients are on wall mounted cardiac monitors. End-tidal CO2 monitor may be used for specific patient requirements. DKA on insulin IV gtt. Other patient populations include respiratory conditions, vasoactivegtts, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, behavioral and substance abuse patients, renal. Emergent intubation may take place in this unit then the patient will be transferred to ahigher level of Critical Care.
