About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) **Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12 Hour Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week **Experience:** Minimum 1 year **License:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Relevant Board of Nursing **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS **Must-Have:** - Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration experience (approval needed if absent) - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - IV starts - Blood product administration - CIWA protocol management - Drain/tube management - Catheter insertion/management - Insulin drips management (both DKA and non-DKA) - Continuous bladder irrigation - Chest tube maintenance **Job Description:** - Care for adults with a variety of diagnoses including CHF, ARF, hepatitis, ESLD, DM, DKA, pneumonia, sepsis, GI bleed, syncope, chest pain, pulmonary emboli, respiratory failure, COPD, arrhythmias, seizure disorders, overdose, and delirium tremors. - Maintain patient ratios: PCU/Telemetry - 1:4; Med/Surg - 1:5. - Use effective verbal and written communication. - Conduct thorough physical assessments. - Exhibit strong clinical judgment. - Demonstrate professional bedside manner. - Be a strong team player with a positive attitude and adaptability. - Collaborate effectively within a team nursing model, paired with Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). - Qualified to float to various adult inpatient units, including ICU based on experience. - Use Epic charting system; prior experience preferred but not mandatory. - Participate in a mandatory orientation including both classroom and preceptor-led shifts. - Maintain compliance with monthly audits for Pre/Post Pain Scoring.
