American Family Children's Hospital is a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center featuring nationally recognized pediatric specialists in a wide range of fields, including faculty from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. Named for a generous gift from American Family Insurance and located in Madison, Wisconsin, the state-of-the-art facility wins widespread praise for its expert care and a warm, soothing atmosphere that enhances a child's ability to heal. Shift: 36 hrs/week, Evening/Night, 12 hour shifts, 1900-0730, every other weekend. Flexibility is required per operational needs of department. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to: • Join our remarkable highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team, to provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in this state-of-the art 21-bed unit. • Provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO. Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: • Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles from assigned primary work site location. • Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Experience: • Pediatric ICU experience required. • Solid experience in PICU, and some CV ICU or cardiac step down or general cardiac experience required. • Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years. Licensure and Certification: • Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state. • BLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY • PALS - must be certified through American Heart Association Education: • Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred. Telemetry • Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).
