About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse **Job Specialty:** Psychiatric Adult **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 3x 12-hour shifts - Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of experience **License:** Valid State of Maine RN license required **Certifications:** BLS certification required **Must-Have:** - CPI Trained - Previous nursing experience working with adults preferred - Willingness to float to Chemical Dependency/Detox units **Job Description:** - Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide care for children and adolescents ages 6-18 on an inpatient behavioral unit. - Address primary diagnoses such as major depression and ADD/ADHD. - Responsible for medication administration and education. - Maintain daily documentation of patient care. - Manage and monitor patient behaviors throughout the unit. - Lead and participate in patient education groups. - Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers. - Handle stressful situations professionally and maintain appropriate boundaries. - Be a dedicated team player, self-directed, and able to stay productive during downtime.
