**Job Title:** Physical Therapy Assistant
**Job Specialty:** Acute Care Hospital
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 1 year required; travel and acute care hospital experience required
**License:** State license required (pending license acceptable, must have active license to start assignment)
**Certifications:** BLS required
**Must-Have:** Acute Care Facility Experience
**Job Description:**
- Provide physical therapy services following the Physical Therapist's plan of care.
- Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a 390-bed acute care hospital.
- Conduct assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, arousal & attention, assistive devices, body mechanics, environmental barriers, pain, sensory response, strength testing, and vital signs.
- Utilize and manage equipment such as bed alarms, call lights, crutches, gait belts, hospital beds, rolling walkers, sit-to-stand lifts, and preferred equipment like Hoyer lifts, lower extremity prosthetics, sliding boards, and others.
- Develop and implement home exercise programs.
- Educate patients and families on safety and injury prevention.
- Undertake lifting and transferring tasks as necessary.
- Must be competent in billing processes.
- Orientation includes department unit familiarization with 16 hours as non-billable.
- Reasonable on-call requirements, pending schedule choice.
- Flu vaccine required with medical exemptions only.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required.
- No float or on-call requirements.
- Adhere to specific uniform guidelines, excluding certain colors.
- Complete modules prior to start, which are included in orientation hours.
