Position Summary:
Potawatomi Training, LLC (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Travel Team Lead whosupervises the travel authorization and voucher process for all responder students attending training at the Noble Training Facility (NTF) and the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversees daily operations of the Travel Section, to include direct supervision of Travel staff
• Examines travel authorizations and vouchers for accuracy and ensures all information is complete and in accordance with regulations
• Examines all travel itineraries for accuracy prior to transferring electronically or mailing if needed
• Maintains log of current year’s travel expenses. Assists government personnel in the reconciliation of the commitment log against actual dollars obligated, by providing the final travel cost for each class
• Maintains daily contact with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) travel office and accounting department
• Compiles and prepares all data required, for various reports, due to government, on a monthly basis
• Provides on-call services, after hours, on a rotation basis
• Communicate with National Travel for student travel requirements as needed
• Provides regular briefings to the Project Manager (PM) and others, as directed regarding all student travel, and making recommendations as needed
• Manages class assignments, to include creating a quarterly calendar for all travel clerks; creating a quarterly calendar for In-Processing responsibilities
• Provides detailed reports, on a monthly basis, for all QA requirements
• Conducts QA audits on a rotation basis
• Conducts annual evaluation of Travel staff to ensure continued professional growth. Provides supportive documentation of evaluation decisions
• Counsels assigned employees as needed. Provides written documentation of the issues and recommended action to the personnel file
• Approves and verifies assigned employee timecards and vacation time
• Mentors new staff
• Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• High school graduate or GED equivalent required
• Knowledge and experience with making travel arrangements in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations
• Knowledge and experience of process of transporting responders to and from scheduled training at the NTF and CDP
• Working knowledge and experience in computer software applications to include word processing and spreadsheets (i.e., Word and Excel)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage individual workloads and work with limited supervision
